Hearts of Freedom – Stories of Southeast Asian Refugees
The exhibition was created by the Hearts of Freedom Museum Exhibition Committee, in collaboration with Canadian Mennonite University (and Menno Simons College), Carleton University, the Canadian Museum of History, the Canadian Museum of Immigration at Pier 21, the Canadian Immigration Historical Society, the Vietnamese Canadian Federation, the Lao Association of Ottawa, the Cambodian Association, the Pacific Canada Heritage Centre – Museum of Migration, and the Manitoba Museum. The refugee oral histories were completed with funding from the Department of Canadian Heritage, the Department of Immigration Refugees and Citizenship Canada, and the DeFehr Foundation. The museum exhibition is funded by Marty Maykut and Shandis Price Maykut, the Carleton University FutureFunder, Rotary Club Winnipeg, among others.
